Non-uniform day in aid of the Humanitarian Disaster for the Horn of Africa.
I have been informed by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers and the National Union of Teachers that they will be taking industrial action in the form of a strike on Thursday 30th June 2011.
On Thursday 30th June at 6pm in the Academy, we are hosting a Community Information Evening in line with our commitment to keeping our community informed about progress with the new Academy building.
The Parent Voice Meeting arranged for Thursday 9 June has owing to unforeseen circumstances had to be re-arranged. It will now take place on Wednesday 15 June at 6.00pm and the topic for discussion will be the proposal to move to an academy day of only 3 lessons each 100 minutes in length. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Please contact the Community Liaison Manager Paul Howard on 0114 2310221 or at paul.howard@parkwoodacademy.org.uk should you require any further information.

As the Principal of Parkwood Academy I would like to welcome you to our Academy community and to let you know about the things that we will be doing to support the transfer of your child to Parkwood in September. This will be a taster day for Y6 students followed by an information evening for parent/carers and students. Prior to the evening event there will be an opportunity for you to order and purchase the Academy uniform. Remember, for Y6 transition students, their first blazer, tie, sleeveless jumper, PE top and shorts are free, additional items can be purchased or ordered. Beat the September price increase, order now!
Look out for your letter in the post!
Wednesday 6th April 2011 will be a non uniform day for a donation of 50p. All monies raised will go to the Japanese Tsunami Appeal. I'm sure you'll agree, a very worthy cause.
Thank you in advance of your support.
A reminder that the Academy will be closed on the 7th & 8th April for Staff Trainning days.
The Academy will close to Students at 15:05PM Wednesday 6th April.
It has come to the Academy's attention that a misprint has occured in the calendar section of the student planner. It states that tomorrow, Friday 1st April is a Bank Holiday. This is NOT the case and ALL students should come to the Academy as normal.
