Industrial Action

This action is not against the Academy itself but is part of national industrial action organised by these trades unions about changes to the pension schemes of their members.

Neither the governing body nor I are legally allowed to close the Academy ‘in sympathy’ with the strike and I will not do so. However, my main concern is the safety of the students. The Academy will only close if it is not safe to remain open. It is unlikely that lessons will be totally normal and there may have to be lessons supervised by a senior member of staff. If action is prolonged, I will endeavour to protect the education of those on examination courses

Should the situation change in any way between now and Thursday I will inform you by letter, by text and here on the website.
