Getting our relationships in the academy right is what will make us successful so we will think carefully about how we treat others. We want relationships that are characterised by honesty and openness; inclusiveness and cooperation; supportiveness and caring; sensitivity and tact; empathy and listening; and friendship and goodwill. We see good relationships as the responsibility of everyone.

Creating a Positive Environment

Our road to success is as much about the journey as the destination. We want to create a positive environment in the academy so that it is a place we all want to come to. It will be a place of personal fulfilment, exciting challenge and cultural cohesion where we students and staff alike enjoy a real sense of belonging.

Respecting Ourselves and Others

Starting with self-respect and self-esteem we will create an environment where we accept the views and values of others; stand up for what is right; develop empathy and awareness of others’ needs; and treat others and we want to be treated. We will celebrate our uniqueness, accept and embrace our differences and respect the right to be different. Through respecting others we will get respect in return.
