Extra-curricular opportunities
Parkwood Academy offers a huge range of extra-curricular opportunities designed to support and enhance the work going on within the academy day. We expect every student to commit to at least one additional activity each week.
The activities fall into a number of areas:
- Sport – our specialism means that we offer a full range of sporting activities
- Creative arts – musical, artistic and drama opportunities including theatre trips, performances, choirs, bands and concerts
- Residential experiences – French, German and Spanish trips, outward bound, university experience etc.
- Study support – holiday camps, “Super Sundays”, ICT based learning
- Subject specific support
- Journalism, media and architecture groups
In addition to the above, our curriculum is rich with trips, visits and participation in special events. We believe that students benefit when they see the connections between the classroom and real life!
