The successful candidate will be an experienced classroom teacher, with good understanding of the changes to English GCSE qualifications, in particular the requirements of the new AQA GCSE specification for English Language and Literature.

We are seeking a Teacher of English who:

  • - Has a passion for English teaching, and a commitment to raising the progress and attainment of   students of all abilities through outstanding classroom practice
  • - Is an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for improving their own practice;
  • - Consistently teaches high quality lessons which results in excellent outcomes for students
  • - Is committed to the use of new technologies to improve their own teaching and learning;
  • - Will work with the Subject Leaders in English to help develop appropriate curriculum content for each level of learning which is challenging, engaging and differentiated to meet the needs of all students;
  • - Will not be satisfied until all students are making good/outstanding progress;
  • - Will actively support the vision, and core values of the Academy;
  • - Will bring an unwavering commitment to promoting the highest standards at Parkwood Academy.

The role involves the supervision of whole classes under the guidance of teaching/senior staff, including implementation of work programmes, managing student behaviour and assisting students in relevant activities.

Applicants will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, a confident, reliable and professional manner, very good literacy and numeracy skills, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications or experience and have the ability and desire to work with young people.

VACANCY FOR A CLEANER

Salary                         £7.78 per hour

15 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

The Academy currently has a vacancy for a cleaner.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the area/sites allocated.
  2. To be aware of the conditions associated with the cleaning of your allocated areas related to the Academy/site users and to work to the appropriate Health and Safety rules and processes.
  3. To use the appropriate equipment, materials, tools and machinery to ensure the job is done effectively.
  4. Cleaning duties will include cleaning, washing, sweeping, scrubbing, sanitizing, shampooing, vacuum cleaning, polishing and dusting of designated areas as required by the Academy.
  5. Specialist cleaning where requested by the Academy, i.e. carpet shampooing.
  6. To report any damage/defects to the appropriate person.
  7. To liaise with site staff, supervisors and line managers as required.

Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade and role.
